Real revelation there, huh? It is never a good time watching the porcelain bowl fill up with everything you’ve eaten for the last couple of hours.
This is a long story, but I’ll try to shorten it up for you. When we remodeled our house back in 2001, we put steel siding on our house. Last summer the paint started to peel off the siding. After 6 months of arguing with the maufacturer we got a settlement out them (they no longer make that particular siding, suprise eh?) So, they were supposed to start putting on the new siding last week. To save some money – I said it was a settlement, not a replacement – I was doing the demolition of the old siding myself. Last weekend, it was cold, raining, sleeting, hailing, and eventually snowing. Followed by blistering cold winds. I was outside in it working on riping off siding and taking up desk boards so we could get at the siding underneath.
Only problem is, the siding folks didn’t order the new siding because they figured no one would be out in that kind of weather. So, materials got ordered on Monday and devliered on Thursday. On top of that the most sleep I got in a single night over the last 2 weeks was a whooping 6 hours. On top of that I was fighting a cold. All of that culminated in the flu. I spent most of Friday semi-comatose on the couch. I also proceeded to sleep for nearly 12 hours Friday and Saturday night.
It was a forced rest that I desperately needed. So, there’s the silver lining. I feel better now than I have in a long time. Too bad I had to go through the flu to do it.
