Since 1982 was the last time the Brewers made it to the postseason, I thought I’d remind everyone of what happened that year. Through some surfing, I’ve accumulated the following list of items you might find interesting:

- E.T., Tootsie, Star Trek II, Poltergeist, Gandhi, First Blood, Conan the Barbarian, Tron, Blade Runner & Fast Times at Ridgemont High were all in the theaters
- Knight Rider airs for the first time (funny this year they brought it back)
- Cal Ripkin started his Iron Man streak
- University of California executes “The Play” on a kickoff return to defeat Standford as time runs out
- Paul Lynde, John Belushi, Randy Rhoads, Satchel PAige, Henry Fonda, Ingrid Bergman, Grace Kelly, and Bess Truman passed away
- Prince William, Danica Patrick, Jessica Biel, Kelly Clarkson, LeAnn Rhimes, Ian Thorpe, Apolo Anton Ohno and Kirsten Dunst were born
- Lastly, the St. Louis Cardinals defeat the Milwaukee Brewers 6-3 in game 7 to win the World Series
My God its been a long time! The game starts today at 2:00 CDT in Philadelphia. The wait is almost over. The Brewers will finally play in October again! Enjoy it Brewers fans! You’ve hung in there, paid for a ballpark and now they’re finally in the playoffs. Ahhhhh…that’s nice.
