It has just been announced that Ned Yost has been fired as manager of the Milwaukee Brewers.  After losing 11 of 14 and being swept by the Phillies, the Brewers let what could have been a serious race with the Cubs slip through their hands.  Someone had to be accountable for that.  That job usually falls on the coach and I guess Attanasio has had enough.  I was surprised Ned was still around after the second half collapse last year.  His teams always collapsed in the second half of the season.  I guess we won’t have to worry about Ned doing that anymore.  Third base coach Dale Svuem will take over in the interim while the Brewers attempt to make it to the post season.
