Hillary won the big states again. Obama won — or is winning at this writing — the caucus in Texas. And, the overall delegate difference remains largely unchanged. Same ol’, same ol’. And I don’t think its good for the Democrats.
Obama and Clinton have been able to pull out new voters into the process. How many of those will feel disenfranchised if their candidate doesn’t get the nomination? Do they skip the November election then? Plus, While they spend their money beating each other up while trying to secure the nomination, John McCain is sitting back taking notes and saving money.
Anyway you slice it, I don’t think this drawn out afair is a good thing for the Dems. Is a Republican White House and Democratic Congress in store for November? I get an image of Phil Hartman in an SNL skit playing Admiral Stockdale screaming, “Gridlock!”
I like gridlock. Neither party gets to screw things up more. Unfortunately, not making things worse may be the best we can hope for these days.

While I do like the idea of forcing the parties to work with each other rather than one party running roughshod over the process, the reality is that they don’t work together. They point fingers, start name calling and throw temper tantrums like a 2 year old. In the whole process, they don’t accomplish much. I guess that does keep them from not making things worse. But if that’s the best I can hope for, the Libertarian in me wants a refund.
