Tomorrow is the Wisconsin primary and our vote finally means something. Well, on the democratic side anyway. Looks like McCain is going to pull away with the Republican side. Which is a good thing. Huckabee gets to go back home to Arkansas. I thought McCain should have won the nomination 8 years ago. Then maybe we wouldn’t be in the mess we are right now.
So, do you vote for a known quantity in Hillary? We know she’s going to push health care, she’s been there before, and she’s an incredibly smart individual. Except she polarizes people. You either love Hillary or you hate her. There is no middle ground with her.
Then there is Obama. He’s the exact opposite. He hasn’t finished his first term as senator yet, there isn’t much of a voting history so you’re not sure where he stands on some things. Yet, he has been able to bring people together and inspire them like no one I’ve seen in a while. He has been compared to Kennedy with how he ralies people around him, he’s young, and we don’t know much about him historically.
I’m inclined to lean towards Obama simply because he does seem able to bring people together. I think we need to move away from the polarization we’re already experiencing. But, what I don’t know is that if elected, could Obama keep people together. That will largely depend on his policies and there is no track record to make a good judgement on that. When was the last time a political race was this entertaining to watch?
