Will my vote finally count?

I can’t believe it.  The race is still close enough that the Wisconsin primary might actually matter.  Usually, the presidential candidates are decided before us Cheeseheads get a chance to weigh.  I’m usually left trying to decide between 2 candidates in November that I had very little say in choosing.  I’m often left with choosing the lesser of 2 evils.

The other day I was thinking all of the primaries should be on the same day.  Then it wouldn’t matter what some exit poll in New Hampshire said when someone casts their vote in North Dakota.  Or maybe that’s the point.  If all the primaries were the same day, would the smaller states ever see the candidates?

Perhaps a better solution should be to have the voting done in 10 state blocks on 5 successive weeks.  Start with the 10 smallest states and work the way up from there.  No long drawn out months worth of battles.  Then everyone gets a better shot at putting in their 2 cents and more people might show up at the polls.

Anyhoo, this year appears to be working out.  I might actually have to look closer at all these candidates over the next couple of weeks.  This could be fun for change.
