This is absolutely outrageous.

I can’t believe we would want to send someone off on their third tour of duty because their country asked them to, and while their gone we’ll kick out their wife and leave them wondering what to do with their children.  Put yourself in their shoes.  I’ve been trying but I can’t even fathom what that must feel like.  You’re laying your life on the line for a country that doesn’t want your family to stay in it.  In this case, she wasn’t granted citizenship because she got married too early?

You know what?  Maybe Bush is right.  The immigration laws do need to be re-written.

Look, there are plenty of illegal immigrants doing illegal things.  How about we round those folks up and deport them first?  When that’s all taken care of — with the efficiency of our government that ought to be sometime around 2083 — then we can begin discussing what to do with the rest of them.  In the meantime, let them support their families who are laying their life on the line so we can have the discussion in the first place.
