He signed. He finally signed. Apparently the debate was over palying time and not the ethnic diversity of Milwaukee — or lack thereof.
Yi really didn’t have any kind of a choice. If he was to play in the NBA, this was his only option. Now we’ll have to see how Charlie Villanueve thinks of the signing. If the Senator promised Yi the starting spot to get him to sign, then Charlie V just got demoted. If Yi’s a better player then I’ve got no problem with that. If he’s not and these promises were made by the team’s owner, it makes life that much more difficult on the coach and the GM. Certainly makes it hard for them to do their jobs when they don’t have say in who plays and who doesn’t.
This will be interesting to see how it plays out as November approaches.
