Still wondering who the ace is?

There has been some debate this year and last over whether or not Ben Sheets is the ace of the Brewers starting pitching staff.  I think he answered that question in resounding fashion last night.

He spent 6 weeks on the DL watching from the dugout as his team struggled.  In his first action back, he allowed 1 run in 6 innings and retired the last 8 of 9 batters he faced.  Prior to last night the Brewers had lost 5 in a row.  Earlier in the year when the team sturggled and was on a losing streak, Sheets would put an end to it.  He went undefeated in June before his injury.  He couldn’t have picked a better time to get back from injury.  No other pitcher on the staff is looked to like he is to shut an opponent down.

Sheets is back and so is the Brewers ace.  End of discussion.
