Since baseball can be such a superstitious game I have been hesitant to write anything about the Crew as the first series on this road trip went quite well.  Playing the D-backs tough, winning the series, and even scoring some runs on Brandon Webb.  But, since Fielder is going to be sitting out the next 2 games I have a built in alibi.

It is hopeful that this recent offensive outburst is not just an anomaly.  We could really use some people other than Fielder and Braun to hit the ball.  Especially since both of them seem to be in a bit of a slump.  If they can come out of this roadtrip with a winning record — which in of itself is a major feat this year — they should be on good footing for the pennant race.  Can you believe I just referred to the Brewers in the context of a pennant race at the end of August?  Another major feat accomplished.
