Pack weighs in on Vick

A reporter asked for Packers opinions on dog fighting charges, and she got some good answers. Most were in the camp of “that’s awful treatment of an animal, but let’s wait until he’s (Mike Vick) proven guilty”.  That’s a pretty good answer.  The man is entitled to a trial as it is one of the cornerstones of our country’s social rules.  And, it is awful treatment of an animal.  That’s why, to date, I have prefaced everything I’ve said about him with an “if he’s guilty”.

But, the reason I posted this link is thanks to a quote from OT Mark Tauscher after he was asked if this would hurt the league’s popularity.  His response:

“We have 1,700 players. You’re not going to have 1,700 priests,” Packers tackle Mark Tauscher said. “Well actually, that’s another bad example. . . . You’re not going to have 1,700 Good Samaritans out there.

Tausch always does seem to have a way with words.
