Okay, okay. If this Brewers team blows this, I will not be very happy at all. In year’s past they were kind enough to screw up the season early on. Yet, this year they entered the All Star break in first place of all things. My hopes were officially up. I had thrown all in to this season. Going to more games than usual. And now this.
The Cubs are now just 1/2 game behind and the Brewers get to take on the Mets followed by the Phillies. Those are not easy series, especially after dropping 2 series in a row to the Reds and the Cardinals. The only saving grace is that the Crew is playing at home. Ah, home. Where the Brewers have the best record in the NL at 36-17. Unfortunately for the Crew, the road record is abyssmal. In fact, the Brewers would have to win their next 11 road games just to get to a .500 record on the road.
So, this is the setting with Packers training camp starting. What’s a fan to do? Lord Football is getting ready to ascend its autumnal throne, the Brewers games are actually relevant for the first time in 20 years. The Brewers better find some magic soon, or I might be forced to take intrest in completely irrelavant things like Humphries broken ankle or the remaining TE’s are dropping like flies.
